EDITORIAL
Well I have had a busy summer, taken lots of photographs, but printed hardly any due to a long programme of decorating work on the house, so I am looking forward to winters days and long nights to get some printing done.
There are quite a few letters in this edition, which is good as it makes the Bulletin more readable. One letter concerns the EAF Exhibition and a reply from Malcom Tinn is included. There is still a misunderstanding in some quarters regarding the purpose of the Exhibition. It is not intended to be a representive exhibition for EAF clubs, but it is to show the best work of individual members.
Another letter asks for opinions from EAF clubs regarding accepting young people as active members.

PRESIDENT
Here we are at the start of a new season, with most clubs already starting their new 2007/2008 programmes. This summer - being what it was - wet and rain ridden - I expect to see many evocative moody landscapes, and people with umbrellas in the competitions and exhibitions this year. Maybe not for some who went to sunnier climes for their holidays.
The next EAF event, which I am sure will be mentioned in the later pages of this Bulletin, will be, as usual, at the Latton Bush Centre, Harlow on November 11th. If you have not yet ordered your tickets, I am sure you will be contacting the Events Secretary in the very near future.
As usual I will now swap hats and mention the PAGB Awards. On April 28th/29th the adjudication for Awards for Photographic Merit took place at Bridgend.
There were 6 entries for CPAGB in the Print section - 5 being successful. There were no entries for the Slide section. At DPAGB level there were 8 entries in the Print section - 5 were successful but again there were no entries for Slides.
At Master level there was only one entrant who was unfortunately unsuccessful.
The next adjudication will be hosted by the North & East Midlands Photographic Federation and held at the Kegworth Whitehouse Hotel, Packington Hill, Kegworth, Derbyshire on the 24th/25th November 2007. I know that this adjudication was full by early August and those applying too late have been referred to the next event. This will be hosted by the Southern Federation and will be held somewhere near Southampton. This would imply that anyone wishing to enter would be well advised to enter NOW!
I hope you all have an enjoyable 2007/2008 season.

TREASURER
I am pleased to say that the finances of the Federation are running in line with my expectations and anticipate that come 31 December will be more or less in line with my budget forecast.
I anticipate sending out the Annual Club Subscription forms in late November, but certainly the first week of December. If you do not receive yours by say mid December please advise me either by telephone (01462 711772) or email.
So far, half the Clubs have forwarded their Club programmes for the next season. If you have not done so, please give this your URGENT attention as you will see from your certificate - it is a condition of the Insurance Company that cover depends on them being forwarded to me as soon as available.
